Delaware - National Make a Blanket Day

Assistance is needed for National Make a Blanket Day for Project Linus, which provides new, handmade, washable blankets to be given as gifts to seriously ill and traumatized children, ages 0-18.  The local chapter is in Dover at the Delaware Sewing Center, located in the Rodney Village Shopping Center.

This year’s event is Saturday, February 21, 2009.  They are in need of volunteer sewers to help make the blankets, as well as donations to help purchase needed supplies.  The biggest supply need at this time is batting (the filling that goes in between the front and back of the quilt).

Not only do the blankets keep the children warm, they also serve as a constant reminder that people throughout Delaware care for them and are concerned for their well-being.

Contact Wilson Reed at (302) 674-9030 to either volunteer or donate.
